Sourcing the Nectar

Black Heath Meadery began like most passion projects. With a backyard, a shed, and a desire to craft the best fermented beverage possible within our means. Over the years the process became more refined, the buzz continued to grow, and so did our operations. Now, celebrating 10 years as an established business, we are incredibly humbled to be the most decorated meadery in the state of Virginia.

Our Mission

To re-create the world's oldest fermented beverage by taking advantage of modern techniques while focusing on Virginia agriculture. We strive to support Virginia beekeepers and help establish and sustain local bee populations all while making a delicious libation.

The best mead. Anywhere! A lot of creativity and thought goes into their mead wine and cider. From tasting flights, full pours, or to-go bottles and cans. The atmosphere is groovy, and conveniently located in the Scott’s Addition District of Richmond. #gogetyousome
